Harold Arlen was one of the most popular songwriters of the 1930's and 40's. Although he is not as well-known today as Gershwin or Berlin, his songs, with such lyricists as Ira Gershwin and E. Y. Harburg are among the most familiar to many music lovers. Among his most famous are "Blues in the Night," "The Man That Got Away," "Stormy Weather," "That Old Black Magic," and of course "Over The Rainbow," selected as the number one song of the 20th Century and is considered to be the best-loved movie theme of all time. .
