The philosophy behind the Austin Hope Wines is simple: make spectacular estate-grown, Rhone varietal wines. Using native clones, high-density vineyard planting in our Estate Vineyard located in the Templeton Gap, one of the coolest sub-AVAs of Paso Robles, the Austin Hope wines are bold, flamboyant and expressive.
One of the goals of Austin Hope Winery is to make the best Syrah in California. “When I first tasted Côte Rotie, I fell in love,” says Austin Hope. The pursuit took him to that very region in France, where he studied their vineyards and unique style of winemaking. Today Austin Hope Winery is in full swing, the new winery nestled amongst the vines on the estate vineyard. The winery is truly a family operation, Austin and wife April along with their new daughter Ainsley are often found out farming the vineyard or in the winery tending to the wine. “Having my family and myself being involved “hands on” in the winery is very important to me,” says Austin proudly.
Our Tasting cellar offers a distinctive blend of eclectic decor, spacious atmosphere and cozy lounge-style seating. In the words of proprietor Austin Hope, “The goal was to give Treana a more vivid sense of place, and to also let a bit of my personality come through.”
The result isn’t just another tasting room that you simply pass through—it’s a destination where we invite you to hang out and enjoy our wines at your own pace. Feel free to enjoy our picnic area among the vineyards.
